Saturday Wild Skills, new Young Ranger Programme

Wednesday September 7th, 2016 | Stephanie

Belgium students conservation tasksThis autumn sees the start of a programme of exciting activities aimed at young people in the Stiperstones and Corndon Hill Country area. If you’re aged 11 or over, and looking for adventure on your doorstep, then this is for you!

Our new Young Ranger programme is running outdoor activities on the second Saturday of each month for ten sessions, starting 15th October 2016.  Learn bush craft skills to survive in the wilds and have a go at hands-on conservation tasks such as coppicing and hedge laying.  Try green wood working to create useful tools and take part in important local wildlife monitoring.  Share new experiences, make new friends and have fun exploring the great outdoors.

Completing the programme also leads to you achieving your John Muir Award.  Sound exciting?  Then join us for the first session. We’ll explain about Young Rangers, what’s involved and what we have planned in the coming months.  Cost is £25 for the 10 sessions.  For more information and to book onto the 15th October event please contact Jon Bielstein at the Stiperstones & Corndon Landscape Partnership Scheme on 01938 561741 or email info@stiperstonesandcorndon.co.uk.
