Hay Meadow Festival Gallery – take a look at the photographs
Wednesday June 28th, 2017 | Stephanie
Around 500 visitors celebrated traditional hay meadows and their wealth of wildlife at the Hay Meadow Festival in the Shropshire Hills on Saturday.
From scything to skipping, spells and storytelling, there was plenty to keep everyone entertained. Competitions in scything, hay bale lobbing and hayrick building were closely fought. Scything workshops, greenwood working demonstrations were popular, as was Charlie, one of the big Shire Horses from Acton Scott Historic Working Farm, who worked to ted (or turn) the hay.
Below are some photographs taken on the day by Gary Price and Amber Bicheno.
